Music concert

Jenny and the children have been working on a musical story for the music concert. They made the whole thing up. It was all about anumals and hunters. It had drama, adventure, excitiement and triumph. Amazing!
The orchestra also played to kick the whole thing off.

Zoo Trip Slideshow

We had a great trip to the zoo but it was part of our term's study. We had researched particular animals at the zoo before we went but the visit allowed us to see the animals in person and make observations of them - the smells, size, the way they moved. We were also interested to see what the zoo had done to provide the right habitats for the animals. Here is some of the research.

Worm study

We are finishing off the year of science with a worm study. The kids are reading about worms and have set up investigations to find out what they eat, or how they move in soul or what worm farm set up works best. Check their blogs for their reflections on how the science is going. Their maths statistics knowledge is getting a workout too as they collect their data.

Then we have some practical maths challenges to shake up the grey matter.

Secret Santa

The children are keen to share some Christmsa cheer. We have agreed that there will be a $5 limit, or they can regift something they already own that is still nice enough to give to someone else. The gifts can come to school from next Monday but need to all be here by the last day of school for the exchange. Thanks for your help.

Our amazing zoo trip

So....the trip to Wellington Zoo wen super well. The children behaved beautifully, the animals were gorgeous, the weather was perfect, the parents were awesome and Kim the Keeper, who looked after us, was brilliant.
I am sure your children have told you all about their adventure so here are a few pics with acotions to bring the stories to life.
Whata team!!

Dioramas

L
Here are dioramas of the habitats for our chisen zoo animals. The children had to choose the right kind of foliage and other features from magazines to glue on to the background. Then make a pop-up animal to have standing in the front.
